Dr. Davidson-Methot grew up in Phoenix, AZ. He received his BA from Northern Arizona University, an MDiv from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. Prior to becoming a psychologist, for 20 years he was a church pastor, serving Episcopal churches in northern and southern California. After earning his PhD in psychology, he was licensed to practice as a psychologist in California (License #18748) in 2002, and in 2005 in Arizona (License #3732). In southern California, he worked with children and adolescents at a residential treatment center, served clients in a multi-disciplinary outpatient clinic setting, and was the Clinical Director for an agency serving the severely mentally ill living in the community. All of these were in Ventura County. In 2004 he re-located to Arizona, where he managed a large substance abuse outpatient clinic in Phoenix, supervised counselors in training for an interfaith counseling agency, and was in private practice. He returned to the Gold Country in 2013, having lived previously in Grass Valley in the 1980's. Among his personal interests are sailing and motorcycle cruising.
